Film!

a photo taken on portra 400 film of a painter in gastown painting a picture of vancouver bc canada

I recently got my hands on an old 35mm film camera and have been having a lot of fun shooting with it. It really forces you to think a lot more before each shot and then forget about it because there’s no chimping.

I’ve been shooting mostly Ilford hp5 (Black & White) and a bit of Portra 400. I got a roll of each developed so far and I love it. The whole experience of shooting film is really refreshing and reminds of why I got into photography in the first place.

Here are a few shots from each roll. The black & white ones are of some dancers who hang out at the Robson skating rink every night, I pushed the roll to 800. The colour ones are from an evening out with my wife (our 6th wedding anniversary).
